Santa's Jeep Parade and Tree Lighting

Each year, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus arrive on his sleigh in historic Galena, Illinois (reminiscent of a Hallmark holiday movie!). It’s festive… and with even more jingle, cheer, and festivities because he is being escorted with a brightly lit Holiday JEEP parade. The Galena (Civil War) Generals will lead us off… followed by our festively decorated Jeep Jingle entourage (75 in total)! The Galena Trolley will transport festive children just ahead of SANTA!!! Candy will be safely distributed to children during the parade. Make a holiday visit for the day/weekend as Santa’s arrival heralds the town’s tree lighting! (A little elf spilled the eggnog that Mr. Kringle and The Grinch will be packing gifts to award outstandingly decorated rigs!!!). Come to historical and beautiful downtown Galena to kick-off your holiday season, enjoy the Jeep Jingle parade, and get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping at the local shops.

The parade is also a Holiday fundraiser for Riverview Center to benefit families affected by Domestic Violence who may need assistance during this Holiday Season… and beyond. Each Jeep in the parade is asked to donate a minimum of a $25 gift card, which will be given directly to Riverview Center clients.
